Town of Conklin Parks Information
Schnurbusch Park
Located between Route 7 and the Susquehanna River at 1171 Conklin Road, Schnurbusch Park is the largest park in the Town of Conklin. Named after long-time Youth Commissioner Leo Schnurbusch, the park is home to beautifully groomed sports fields, a playground, sand volleyball, basketball and wall ball facilities, and the Walter Ayres Municipal Pool.
The pool is open daily from approximately the second weekend in June until the last week of August, and swimming lessons are offered through the YMCA.Â
There are three pavilions which are available to be rented for social events and a pretty spot along the river with benches for reading or conversation. Exercise stations are located near the pool area and many people enjoy walking the park road for exercise.
On Wednesday evenings during the summer, the Town offers a free Concert in the Park series with a variety of musical performances. On the final evening of the Concert series, the Town hosts a Grand Finale Picnic with the Town providing hamburgers and hot dogs and other participants bringing a dish to share. Schnurbusch Park is a hub of activity in Conklin.
Conklin Forks Park
Conklin Forks Park, a beautiful and quiet rural park, is tucked away off Conklin Forks Road, approximately six miles from the intersection with Conklin Road. Conklin Forks Park features a pavilion, which can be rented, and sports fields, basketball hoops, a playground, and a small brook nearby. Conklin Forks Park provides a lovely spot for your family or friends to enjoy a day of summer fun. THERE IS NO WATER AVAILABLE AT CONKLIN FORKS PARK.
Sullivan Park
Sullivan Park, located next to the Susquehanna River on Route 7 across from the Floyd Maines Community Center grounds, is a little jewel of a park that provides a boat launch for small, hand-carried vessels, such as canoes and kayaks, as well as a pretty spot to enjoy a picnic or to fish. This boat launch is not accessible for trailered boats.
Julius Rogers Park
Julius Rogers Park, located on JR Boulevard on the northern end of the Town of Conklin, provides a tennis court and ball fields. The Town of Conklin T-ball Program is held at this park.
